Town of Milton Opens New Public Parking Lot at Union Street and Magnolia Street Two‑Hour Parking Limits in Downtown to be Enforced
Milton, Delaware — June 8, 2026 — Town Manager Kristy Rogers today announced the official opening of the Town of Milton’s newest public parking lot, located at the corner of Union Street and Magnolia Street, marking a significant step forward in improving access, convenience, and mobility in the heart of downtown.
The new lot provides additional public parking within walking distance of Milton’s downtown attractions. The project reflects the Town’s ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses, enhancing visitor experience, and ensuring that residents have safe, accessible options when traveling downtown.
“We are excited to open this new parking lot and provide much‑needed additional capacity for our growing community,” said Town Manager Kristy Rogers. “This investment supports our downtown businesses, improves traffic flow, and makes it easier for residents and visitors to enjoy everything Milton has to offer.”
With the opening of the new lot, the Town will resume enforcement of the downtown two‑hour parking space limitation, as outlined in Town Code Chapter 209. The two‑hour limit applies to designated on‑street parking spaces in the downtown business center and is intended to promote turnover, ensure fairness, and maintain access for customers and visitors.
“Now that we have expanded parking availability, it is the right time to return to consistent enforcement of the two‑hour parking rules,” Rogers said. “These regulations help keep downtown accessible and vibrant, especially during peak business hours and community events.”
Clear signage is posted throughout the downtown area, and the Town encourages all drivers to review posted limits and plan accordingly. The new parking lot is open to the public effective immediately.
